Business Case of the Month: Equal Employment Opportunities In South Asia

Every Month, The Asia Career Times introduces you to a different Business Case.  This month we have selected  ”EQUAL EMPLOYEMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN SOUTH ASIA”.

‘Equal employment opportunity’, much more than a simple acronym, is a whole concept on its own, extending its path from the basic premise of ‘human rights’. One of the most hotly debated and voiced over areas today, this topic has its proponents putting their focus on the region that is its prime victim: South Asia. While the countries of South Asia, namely Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, have made rapid progress over the last decade in various walks of life, they still lag behind the Western civilisation by having the least number of women, minorities, disabled and other people of diverse ethnic origins in their organisations. This case tries to articulate why it is so.
